hi there,
i recently bought a 1983 110 with a sound chassis and a isuzu 2.8 TD in it. All was going well with rebuilding the both front hubs and shocks all round etc when a few days ago i lost all power and had to grind to a halt.
when i tried to restarted it, it would only idle and would not pick up any power.
so ive changed fuel filter, fuel pick up in the tank and checked all the fuel lines and still no better, it would be ok for a few miles and then play up again.... and now wont fire up at all.
i did notice the electrics went a bit haywire at the time with fuses being blown and gauges reading wrong.
ive run a 200tdi for yrs and am unfamiliar with a isuzu lump.... wondering if it could be something to do with the electrics on the injector pump?

Injector pumps are a common fault on those engines.

Cheers ratty, after plenty of messing around it runs fine on a can so tracing and replacing the fuel line all the way back to the tank... found a split at the tank end... and as it's not got a lift pump priming has been a pain so gonna install a pajero filter housing with primer pump on top, £30 from the local scrappy.
Hoping that should cure it and that it's not the injector pump

hi

new to the forum - so go gentle

had exactly the same problem with mine after fitting the isuzu engine - turned out to be the fuel filler cap wansnt 'breathing enough' so would run for a while until the fuel filter emptied due to the vacuum created in the tank and would chug a bit and then came to a stop.

new filler cap - issue solved - nice and cheaply :D

Well done and welcome to the forum.
