After adjusting the tappets,noticed no.6 tappet locknut would not tighten.
Don't want to remove head to remove tappet,am thinking of an additional locknut or lock wire.
No need to remove head....You can just remove the rocker gear, slide it all off the shaft, make sure you keep the other bits in order etc. Then when you put it back together just replace the errant tapper!
What engine is it on? If it's the 200 tdi when you lift out the rocker shaft there is a small bush that fits in the very last mount next to the bulkhead, mind you do not lose it! Don't know about 300tdi though.
Heard that it has happened to more than a few people.
