Well looks like my current clutch is on it's way out, not much slipping but it's at the end of the peddle (give or take a mm or 2), I had a look in the book and it appears you only adjust when fitting a new one.
Is there anyone who may know if adjusting might help, as I thought the clutch really really slips when on its way out
This would happen so close to Xmas so anyone around Yorkshire area able to fit them? Will of course pay but can't afford garage prices ATM
Cheers steve

not much slipping ? any means you need a new one ,as a clutch wears biting point rises, if your having to press pedal to the floor try adjusting

maybe take the slave off and check the fork isn't borked?

Will take a look but pardon my inexperience/limited knowledge but how much of a difference would this make if it is 'borked'?

Have had a quote of £300 plus VAT ooooouuuuuchhhhhhh

cm, i also thought you meant biting point was on the floor. :)

I must have got ripped off, had a 110 - when I had one - done some years ago, got charged nearly a grand, only went there as it was the closest garage so I could get there in second. he did seem a bit of a sharp intake of breath merchant though.

If you have room its an easy job on a series just takes ages to go through each bit. Fit a new bearing and both plates. If you have a 5mb engine buy a new crank oil seal incase you need to change it.

Yeah sounds real easy lol, things seem to take me a lot longer to do nowadays, I like to tackle most things but garage said it's an awkward job so with it been my only means of transport I don't want it off road for too long.
If it was a project rebuild I may have attempted but it's a different story with just one vehicle....

I have room for you (well actually it's a caravan) or did you mean room for me to do the job????

Well guys, clutch is sorted, got a guy round the corner from me who does car repairs as a job, took it in today and getting it in morning, was still working on it at 7pm tonight, would have got it today but he had problem sourcing a part. £280 which is a saving on the vat plus a little extra.....

Blackburn - have used ray before and still source parts from him (he is just about walking distance from me) but prefer to use Simons services other side of town for some reason.
Tax - after seeing engine on a lift and parts everywhere realised it was a job too big for me...

Most people would remove the gearbox not the engine to change a clutch , less parts to disconnect. Can even be done by moving gearbox backward , personally I lift it out the way.
