Hello don't know if anyone can help. I'm thinking of selling my 3 door 1994 discovery with 88k miles on it. I'm unsure on what the real value is and looking online in not helpful as they seem to vary greatly in price. Can anyone recommend where I can look for true value or suggest what I should be asking for it, if i do indeed sell? Reason for selling would be a chance to upgrade to a 06 discovery 3.
There’s a lot to consider re what it’s worth.
• existing chassis condition
• boot floor condition
• Arches still there?
• inner wings?
• 3 door commercial?
• standard?
so much will come down to how you’ve looked after it. 3 doors are more sought after so command a higher tag.

Thank you for your reply, I believe it's a commercial (so I've been told) don't really know the difference myself. Theres no rust really on outside, been told boot floor is ok but has some surface stuff starting but nothing that's going to cause concern in the next few years. I will try and get some pics.

I know myself and others wouldn’t care about the mileage so much. The biggest feature is rust. It was more prevalent on the body but many are exposing a dying chassis on these now.
Body/chassis mount points, sills, anywhere around arches and inner wings, boots and even bulkheads all rot and the difference between a good and a bad will obviously affect price massively.
if she was really tidy, realistically I don’t think anyone would pay much more than 2500. If she’s a bit of a dog, she would be bought as a doner or perhaps by some stupid muppet who thinks it’s a good hobby to rip one down into bits and build it up over a couple of years on their driveway....
in all serious though, send me some pics and a pm. I can give you a rough figure of what I’d advertise or potentially pay for it myself.

Ironic really as you then put a notification to people with a deluded pointless comment. I can tinker with cars if I want and generally know how to without asking pointless questions on sites like how do you change the oil. I was only looking for advise as not involved with landy clubs, if you don't like it don't comment, simple. I wouldn't post on here asking how to maintain my car as if you going to own an older car you should have some basic knowledge on how to repair it.
With all due respect, put it on the "For sale" section and see what happens.

TBH we don't know much bettern anyone else, really. Try looking at auctions that have ended on eBay i.e. ones that have actually sold.
Or else autotrader.
But at ther very least move this to the "Discovery" section, and maybe start a thread along the lines of "What do you think your 300tdi is worth?"

Thanks for your reply. I have tried ebay, auto trader a few classic sites, none seem to have anything that compares to mine, that's why I posted here to see if anyone could advise. Sorry it's in wrong section, I have used this site a few times to repair my neighbours newer landrover so thought someone here might know what's the right estimation. The ones I did fine on Ebay ranged from 3k to 30k and I didn't believe the prices, that's why I posted here
