Hi all,

I will be making a one day trip to Kent from the continent the coming weeks. I would like to combine this with maybe sourcing a few parts that are hard to find over here. Anyone in that area breaking a p38, or know of someone breaking one?

Also if anyone in that area has the EAS calibration blocks and is willing to help calibrate my rangie give me a shout!

It may help if you listed the parts you want. or bring a trailer and take a whole 1 back :D.
Do you have an address to send parts too till you get there?

Don't need the calibration blocks when a broom stick cut up works. or a measuring stick. Why are you needing? or is it in another fred?

Taking a whole car back into the EU would be problematical.
As you say, a measuring stick is much easier than blocks.

As a whole?
Surely the problems only happen when trying to register?
Break for parts or spare should not be a problem. (We have not done it since B so unsure).

Are Island-4x4 not in Kent? Might be worth popping in.

Don't know of any breakers there but bound to be one somewhere.

They are just outside Maidstone BUT they don't allow any collections any more. It's really frustrating when your barber is at the end of their road, you're already there and they will only post the parts to you!

Not got anything bad to say about them really but the frustration of it has made me use Maltings in Doncaster more and more as they get stuff to me next day for the same price anyway (and their website is better).

There is an also a Land Rover breaker in Charing area. Only used them once but they were pretty good.
Kent 4x4 Spares
Here's their eBay page: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_...reakers&_oac=1&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211

They've still not updated their business address but they are NOT in Hollingbourne any longer, I think you'll find them in Watery Lane (Ashford) near Hothfield

Annoyingly Island-4x4 don't even publish their telephone number so you cannot call them with enquiries. This is in contrast to Rimmer Bros. who have always been very helpful on the phone when I have called them plus you can collect from their parts counter. Unfortunately they are a long way from Kent.:)

Another reason I got so frustrated with them sadly. I always like to support local businesses but if they make it hard to do business, people will give up.

01622 693884 but, if they've moved since I last used them, might have changed.

Rimmers are very helpful indeed, however their pricing can be a tad high.........

Import duty and VAT on the estimated value of the vehicle.
Indeed! Too bad, because I could sure use a parts car..

Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far!

Fyi what I need is:
- left hand tail light pre 99
- battery cover incl screws
- instrument cluster surround
- ivory/beige interior trim bit that goes between the carpet and sill on the front left
- right hand seat motors for the seat base
- ivory/beige glove box (not sure if LH and RH drive are identical?)
- original radio
- arm rest with cup holders
- trim pieces on the side of the centre console, also beige/ivory
- speaker cover left rear door, also ivory/beige
- black tailgate button

It's basically a bunch of small bits, interior bits etc. Nothing essential, but on mine these are missing or in bad condition.

I'm in France and I may have a left hand tail light and possibly an instrument cluster surround. PM me if you are interested.
