Hi all,

I purchased an L322 (02) a while back and didn't check for the locking wheel nut (my bad). I'm now looking at doing some work and have realised I do not know where the locking wheel nut is (or should be). I've taken the boot apart looking for it and can't find it and just wanted to check where it should be and, worse case scenario, what to do if it really is missing.

Find a 12 point socket you can hammer on there nice and tight and give it a whirl. You'll probably ruin the wheel nut, but so what.
Failing that your local tyre garage will likely help
 
I had a similar issue when my adaptor stripped and would no longer rotate the locking nut. You can get locking wheel nut removal sockets, you select one a bit bigger than the nut. When you put them on rotating the socket causes it to cut into the nut and eventually it will rotate it off. You then put the nut with adapter attached in the vice, rotate in the opersite direction to release the socket. Alternatively, as I did, find an old socket slightly smaller than the locking nut, hammer it on and remove the nut as normal, they shouldn't be that tight 140Nm. You then have to hammer the nut back out the socket and move on to next wheel. Hope that helps, good luck
 
Could anyone share where the locking wheel nut is meant to be located within the vehicle?
I may be looking in the wrong place.

Ours sits in a hole in the rubber that holds the bits and bobs next to spare wheel ( 2011)
