I have a 1996 P38A that I bought some while back and apart from some very minor issues, it is performing exactly as it should, bar one more minor point.
When I bought the vehicle the remote fobs were defunct and I had to manually lock and unlock the doors; So I got myself some news ones from my local Land,, Rover dealer. What happens now is that I can unlock the car (all doors and tailgate unlock) with the remote, but cannot lock it, no doors nor tailgate locks and have to do so manually. Chappy at the dealers said that sometimes the wires to the door locks get chafed and either one or more has gone short or open cicuit. Has anyone else had this problem and is there an easy fix?
I've seen somewhat similar posts but not specifically this problem

There are few easy fixes on P38.
It is possible to have wiring issues to the doors, either where the cables go from the wing to the door or inside the kick panel where the door wiring loom terminates in a connector.
The connectors can corrode and even lose pins and the wiring can break, sometimes without breaking the outer insulation.
