Hi all!
Have had a few un-sucsessful attempts,so have decided to through the question back into the pot...

A friends got a 2000 4.6 P38, That having left on their drive for a good few months , the battery is now flat..Dead flat... (think they have the battery draining syndrome! But thats for another day)
The locks are obviously electric so wont unlock on the key...
Anyone got any suggestions of opening it? Have tried coathanger down the door ,but cant get it past the rubber due to the wide door frame...
Has been suggested, maybe get a live onto the main starter motor lead and earth the chassis(all from underneath) and maybe will power the locks up? (not sure how the starter hangs on the Petrol...My diesels right on top of the block)
Cant get me head around how to open the bonnet from outside as double catched...

Any suggestions?

Cheers all

Be honest the cars around their house and has been a month or so since i last attempted...
The key dosent open the lock,,,Im pressuming the lock is actually operated by electric rather than a standard physical lock..As it turns both ways with no "locking" resistance

Arrrh .. Sorry!!
Have just rung the guy and apparently the cable/bar is off on the inside of the car...hence he was unlocking on the remote and climbing through the passenger side...
The inside door handle works,,but the outside door lock does not...
And theres no external key lock on the boot or the passenger side...
Am now guessing getting power to the batt is not gonna help as the remote unlock will now be outta sync with the BECM,,so guess coat hanger is gonna be the only way......

Get the battery charged back up and use the EKA code it should open all doors! sounds like your system has went into super lock!

Hi Dutch RR
The problem im having is the drivers door lock and outside handle are disconnected..(The outside lock and handle dont operate the lock as the connecting bar is off)
The guy was unlocking on the fob and climbing throught the passenger side..
So even if i get live to the battery,i cant enter the EKA as the key lock is not connected.... (Not sure if that makes sence  )
Cheers though, but i think its gonna have to be broken window time!!

Errrr...why didn't he just take it down to a garage and fix the damn drivers door? Surely that must of driven him mad to do that day in day out?

What a lazy tight git!

I hope you knocked the price down a bit to compensate!

Does the vehicle have a tow bar and associated electrics?? You will need to find the pin out details but Ive read before someone applying power through one of the towing electric sockets. This gives just enough juice to power on th ECU's etc and you will be able to unlock ASSUMING the key fob hasnt lost sync.

Might be worth a last ditch effort!!
