hi there .does the fuel pressure temperture sensor fit in the fuel rail or in the head. any ideas any one of the location.

No such thing, fuel-pressure temperature sensor, but the fuel temp sensor is shown below and YES it's in the fuel rail.
And about time you got your self a workshop manual

cheers i have got a workshop one but does not say were the location of it is. on the discovery 3.9v8

That's it Paul, easy when starting off with a new engine and then keeping away from the dirty stuff, all still original and unmolested other than a water pump (the bearing failed last year) and service items like plugs, leads and filters,
