so i've had my 33's on for a while now and have done a few days green laning and used it as my daily so i thought i'd write a quick review so anyone searching can find the advice which i couldn't.

Tyre: 33x12.5 R15 maxxis mudders. (approx £100 each)
Wheel: 10x15 modulars (£150 a set delivered from paddocks)
Lift:none

i could run the tyres on 8" wheels but you get issues with steering lock so on others advice i chose the 10"

Cons:
so the tyres stick past the arch around 2-3 inches. which in turn means that on full articulation the tyre hits the arch edge. i trimmed a bit off the front and back of each arch allowing more flex. today i tested it to its limit of articulation (one wheel off the ground) the tyres rubbed but the arches remained and no damage was done.

my tie rod ends where not in great shape but in the short space of a month they are completely knackered!! i think this is due to the extra offset and as such leverage

the car 'wonders' more than it used to, especially on motorways above 70 (i mean private air strip) top speed is actuall y lower now

speedo reads wrong

lanes are now all tight! where as before you could head to one side of the lane to avoid low branches etc, now on a tight lane you drive slap bang in the middle!! sometimes if it is really rutted you have to chose one or the other. it was commented that i was struggling for traction as spent a lot of time with only half the tyre in the rut or up a bank!

pros:
the main reason which out weghs all the bad stuff - it is unstoppable! so so much more capable than before.

despite what folks said the gearing is no issue at all.

the ride feels 'softer' and you don't drop into ruts anymore like with smaller tyres.

the tyres sort of protect the bodywork as the tyre hits a bank or whatever before the bodywork

if i was to do this again i would have 8x15 wheels with 33x10.5 tyres. the height is great but the width is a pain for green laning.

25psi seems to work well too.

i hope this helps someone.

OOh, nice one.

I know mine's a Disco but I run 31 x 10.5 R15's on 8j's and am looking at 33 x 10.5 or 12.5's MT's sometime later this year ... think 10.5's will do the job better for me now, after reading this, so thanks .. ;)

I know it'll need cutting a tad, the 31's were fine, though rubbed a bit.

hopefully this later on 'll have some videos of it in the lanes and you'll see what i mean. its about 6inches wider than normally landies and about 8inch wider than the other trucks which kinda highlights the problem!!

i run with 305 70 16 fitted to an 8" rim they finish level with the top of the arch, but on full lock rubbed on the radius arms, quick adjustment of lockstop bolts all is good and loads of grip
