Thought I'd better introduce myself - been a member for a while but not got around to doing anything much else on here yet - although have enjoyed browsing as a guest over the last 18 months or so !
Been a Landy fan ever since a small boy - and now fortunate enough to be able to actually 'live the dream' -
I'm very lucky in that I run a Disco 4 as my 'day car' - but my real pride and joy is a nearly 13 year old Defender TD5 that I bought last year and have spent a lot of time, trouble and care on since - and more money than is sensible - but I don't care cos I just love the truck - at the moment I probably drive it more often than the Disco - and my aim is to keep it in as fine a fettle and running like a dream for as long as possible !
It's currently got 193k on the clock - has had a few 'digestive problems' courtesy of having been run on chip fat by its previous owner (all now sorted with a new fuel pump and fuel line filters etc) - it's had a bit of an ECU remap and just been treated to a new flywheel and clutch - but other than that original engine and gearbox which I'm going to do my darnedest to get 250k out of at least - a not unrealistic target I think ??
