Hi everyone.

I've recently bought an l322 4.4 tdv8 wesgminster 2012.

I'm now wondering how genuine the seller ans and looking for some answers from you guys. The vehicle was serviced around 6k miles ago and I'm wondering when the service intervals are. Also the gearbox was serviced around 60k miles and its currently on 128k miles. Am I right in thinking it needs a gearbox service along with a regular full service ?

Also, I'm not sure if its just me not being used to an automatic car as ive never owned one but it feels like it hangs onto the revs for quite some time before changing up gear from roughly 2nd-4th gear and sometimes it goes to around 2 - 2.2k revs before changing, is this normal ?

I have also found that the left horn button on the steering wheel doesn't work, the drivers heated seat don't get warm, and the airbag light appears on the dash and the guy even cleared it for me when I took it on the test drive and said it was something under the passenger seat.

I would also like to ask you guys if its quite normal to feel all the lumps and bumps of the road through the steering wheel ?

And to top it all off I found what looked like an oil leak as I found oil on the bopt above the anti roll bar. It seemed as though its coming from higher up but I don't know where.

Oh, and it creaks when going over speed bumps.

So all in all I don't know what to do as the car is in a lovely condition but
There's things that need putting right.

Whats your feedback and thoughts on this please guys as ive never driven another range rover so I cant compare any of this stuff and it might just be me being paranoid with the gearbox thing but the more I read the more I worry from other people's experiences.

go try a different one see how they compare, but from the list of things you have already noticed unless its very cheap walk away

I paid 11.5k and now thinking that with the amount of issues I should take it back but he's saying that I won't get a full refund because of miles that's been driven in the vehicle since I've driven it away. I live 2.5 hours away so I'd be losing out around 500 quid if I was to return it as ive been driving around in ig for roughly a week.

well unless your good with spanners its going to be easy to burn through another 5k or so getting it sorted, its not easy to strip down the seat to fix the heating element, the airbag if its the occupancy sensor will need the other seat stripped to fix, gearbox service will set you back £500 and if it needs a gearbox rebuild that's another £2.5k, you shouldn't feel all the lumps and bumps through the steering unless a really bad road and it defenetly shouldn't creak

I will have a stab.
Yes gearbox would need a service.
Ours will hang on to the gears if its cold but not once warm.
You shouldn't really get that sort of feedback through the wheel unless really bumpy road, but as you say its creaky, I would suspect suspension bushes front & back (common)

If you look at the engine and the leak is showing on the left handside down the bottom, It could be the oil cooler leaking or an O ring on a cooler pipe on the left, and yes not easy to see from the top.

Your electrickery not even going to have a guess. But the battery would need to be good otherwise you get the odd warnings for no reasons but then generally clear after running for a while, but will come back. But why stuff dont work not got a clue.

If they are not willing to fix it then take the hit or argue and try to get it all back.

Just my guesses;).

Oh just to add the leak. The AC drain is in that area but the other side(i think) so could just be that dripping.

Take it back, the loss of £500 is nothing compared to what it's going to cost to sort that list of problems.
