Hi All,
I'm replacing the TD5 engine on my Discovery 2. When fitting the new engine, any suggestions on lining up the bolt holes in the torque converter with the triangular p[late on ther rear of the engine? I can see it's going to be tricky feeding the bolts through the starter motor hole, through this plate, into the threaded holes in the torque converter disc.
Many thanks.

I think I can just touch the torque converter disc through the small, circular inspection cover at the bottom of the bell housing.
The previous person who had the engine out must have struggled with the bolts clamping the engine back plate tp the torque converter - there were two at the bottom of the bell housing which had presumably been dropped.
Cheers, :)

You remove the starter motor and access the TQ bolts through there.

A wrench on the crank pulley will help align the holes.
