Hi I have a range rover sport 2 7 2009 tdv6 auto and it regularly goes into limp mode with no error codes all it says is engine system fault turn off restart back to normal had 2 diagnostic,s and also in to an auto electric specialist no joy as to why can anyone point me in some direction

How old is the battery?
Check it is 100%. if you need to change get the largest capacity in the space available.

What is the voltage while the engine is running?
I think you need to see the live data and catch it in the act

I recognise this problem. posted the same issue myself a few years ago with my L322. In my case it is a known firmware fault. You put your foot down, say to overtake, then the engine management system has an issue with the air intake demand, maybe has an issue with an air mix/fuel sensor, then you get past the slower vehicle and suddenly find yourself doing 50mph on a dual carriageway in limp home mode while the snail you just overtook sails past looking at you like you are a complete ****! You pull over, restart and you are back to normal. WTF!

Were you able to fix it?
