Hi folks,

I noticed a puddle under landy the other day, sniffed it worried it was fuel, but it wasn't. As oil drips and other fluids regularly paint the drive near the old girl I didn't worry. Everything worked fine and sounded good so went for a drive.

This morning I realised there were almost no brakes at all. Long press of pedel = no resistance = no braking action. Checked and found reservoir very low. Checked further and noticed brake fluid leaking from where master cylinder joins servo unit. It's been bubbling paint on the servo now I look.

Topped up with fluid and brakes work fine (probably need a bleed, but good enough for now).

Before I drain and rip apart. Any advice? Will it just be a seal in cylinder? Should I replace the lot? (My preference) with decent new parts?

Advice appreciated!

Buy shiny new bits, fit and forget.

Bits are so cheap these days that it has become a false economy in labour hours to reseal MCs etc,.

Thanks for the replies guys! Yes its probably the fluid escaping the terrible paint job :) I've gone ahead and ordered a replacement part now, so its ready to fit. I'm also going to redo that paint job as not 100% happy with the last one!
