Are 55/60 w blue head light blubs legal and i have 4 55w spot lights to go on a roof bar in i link them to the full beam will the pass mot and legal

Also what is the best oil to go for on 2.5dti with over 202 k

If the 55-60 blue ones are like the ones of ebay that give the hid look they are legal i have them in my td5 and it passed its mot on friday just gone. Im pretty sure the ones on the foof bar will be illegal to use on the road though....Tony

Roof bar lights cannot be used on road, so need to go on a separate switch.
Those blue headlight bulbs are a waste of money in my opinion. I tried a pair, but they seemed to provide less visibility, not more - they're just bling.

I always use and recommend Ovoline 10/40 tractor universal oil for TDi's. It's top quality oil, just packaged and marketed for farmers, so much cheaper. Get it from your local agricultural merchants - about 65 quid for 25 litres - enough for 3 and a bit oil changes.

Nope it is not illegal to fit roof lights and they can not be tested for MOT purposes. It is however illegal to use them on a public highway. Now this includes Green lanes, but how many times do you bump into a copper on a green lane??

so where can i get switches and how would i fit it

If you're reasonably good with wiggly wires, relays and switches you can get reasonable stuff from Maplin or RS Components. I also seem to think somewhere in the forum there is a diagram for wiring lights, try doing a search.

On a related but subtly different subject, how many reversing lights and what position can you have on a car?

Thinking of installing a couple of fog light units at high level on the back for worklights but would also be useful for off road reversing at night... i suppose i could also isolate the circuit as suggested for roof lights, but would prefer to keep to a second 'spare' disco standard switch to override power supply.
