Hi,
When I'm driving along my headlights and dash lights are dimming.
The lights aren't going out, it's like there pulsing a bit.
Don't know if it's battery, alternator or connection, but reckon if it was a connection they'd probably be going out all together?

Doesn't seem to do it at tick over.

Any thoughts?

Oh it's a 89 90 I've got, with a 200TDI conversion.

I'd say alternator as its not kicking the charge in right, probably doesn't do it in tickover as it may be running off the battery

A lot of garages do free checks, suggest doing it sooner rather than later as if it's not charging the battery right, the first sign of frost will finish it off

Alternator bushes - will probably stop charging all together very shortly.

Have the alternator and battery checked soonest.

Check youve got a good earth to your body and gearbox, try using jump cables from your neg battery to a earth on the body, this turned out to be my problem..
