Ive Got A 2 Inch Lift Kit On My Range Rover Would I Beable To Put 4 Inch Springs On With My Shocks From My 2 Inch Lift And How Do I Go About Lifting The Body 2 Inch Is It Easy
Hi Muddyman,
Yes you could fit 4inch longer springs and keep your 2inch longer shocks. Your rangie would sit higher but you would'nt gain any more articulation. To get more articulation with the longer springs either fit 4inch longer shocks or keep the 2inch longer shocks and change the shock mounting brackets for 2inch lower brackets (cheaper option).
As for a bodylift yes its easy enough if you can fabricate and weld. There are a total of 20 brackets from the chassis to the bodywork. Aslo the radiator will need to be lifted as the cowl will fowl the fan and your brake hoses will need to be changed for longer ones. If you have a difflock gearstick you will find its now 2inches shorter which can be cut and welded.
Just be carefull lifting your rangie springs by 4inches, as i have been told that the propshaft UJ would be past its angle limit causing failure. Although nowadays you can purchase extreme propshafts to avoid this.
Please check my website as i am in the process of rebuilding my rangie with a 1inch bodylift and 2inch suspension lift.
