So, put my foot down last night to accelerate and heard a huge "whooshing" noise, now ive had turbo cars in the past and this was louder than the turbo spooling up. Sounds almost as though i had switched the fans on full at that instant. Done some digging around under the engine bay this morning and noticed a split hose that comes off the egr valve to the manifold. Local place has got one in stock so that isnt a problem. Checked the manifold to intercooler and whilst it is oily dirty on the outside it does not seem to be split anywhere, although at some point it will need replacing as the bolt underneath has started to fret the pipe. Is there another pipe i should be looking at that would make the same kind of noise/problem?

Any of the 4 rubber hoses could be the culprit as they're all part of the same system and under pressure. That split is rather large though so i'd suggest that would be the best place to start. Go with silicone if you can, more expensive but last longer and look better!

All sorted, managed to get one from AMD four wheel drive in Desford. Really helpful. Cut the old pipe in 2 the put that around the pipe from the manifold to intercooler where it is rubbing on the bolt below to give it a bit of protection.
