About to install a leisure battery, and unsure where is best. The usual space at the front has the airbox intake pipe, I have an ABS pump too, so that restricts moving the airbox.

Currently considering:
  • Under passenger front seat, although height is marginal, so not sure that's a goer.
  • In the rear footwell, in the middle (behind cubby box), but seems wrong, and space is limited.
  • Strapped behind the NS rear wheel arch, this seems good, but a long cable run to starter battery.
Suggestions VERY welcome (hopefully helpful ones :))!

In the boot left or right behind the wheel arch just build a wooden box & use 4 way stretch carpet
to cover it, thought you were fitting a leisure battery, why would you need long starter cables??

You can remove the intake trumpet then fit the battery where the trumpet was, the tray etc is already there.

So I can charge it when driving via a split charge relay. Will be using solar to when parked up.

Fink I miss read it lol I thought you were using it as a starting battery o_O
Ive got a t-max split charging system in mine. :)

mmmmh, if you remove your ABS pump and fit a raised intake, you can put the battery in front of the filter no problem :D. Jokes aside, I plan to fit a second battery behind the rear wheel arch and lay all the wiring through the roof so no cables are in the floor, but as you say, it's going to be a looong cable so make sure to add the right fuses.
