Hi after success with the cv joint , moving onto other niggly bits , the left brake light has been inconsistently working then not , so used to give it a tap and woukd work now it’s just not working , bulb checked and replaced , took light off for a visual wire check no obvious issue found anyone have any experience in this issue ? Cheers

If you have power to the bulb holder and a new working bulb then maybe you could tweak the connections in the bulb holder a little to get a good firm connection to the bulb.
Bear in mind it's just general advice as I don't know what your bulb holder looks like.

Well yea the bulb is working and on with the lights , just no brake light bit works when peddle pushed I tried wiggling wires to no avail

There are two filaments in the bulb, brake light one might be bust.
Get a test light to make sure you have power with the pedal depressed.

Some bulb holders have their own earth, check if yours is one and if it works ....

The bulb works with the light on just the second filament don’t light up when pedal pressed , couldn’t see and dodgy wires either il have another look tommorow

Check the contacts in the bulb holder for corrosion. I had an audi that was murder for it, had to clean the contacts up regularly

Not quite that bad mate, the foam/rubber seal was never quite right on the one unit and it just got condensation build up

Ours had a manufacturing flaw that allowed water to by-pass the gasket/seal and into the holder ... drove us mad till we worked out what the problem was ...
