I've just fitted a 200tdi into my 90 everything is working beautifully with a reconditioned gearbox... Now the transfer case has started to leak oil! Any tips or is it really necessary to remove the entire gearbox again? Cheers in advance.
Looking at your pics the leak is from the front output shaft housing, But it could also be coming out of a gallery cast into the transfer box housing that leads up to the seals on the gearbox output shaft. Either way its a transferbox out job!
Great advice and it's shiny because I was looking to see if i could track new runs... The haynes manual says to get the transfer case of you should remove the Gear box is this strictly necessary?
