When I did this I ordered from LR Direct as they will let you select the brands of the components and you can avoid Britpart where it really counts. Yes, it's a good idea to fit new bolts wherever possible. That way you know it's nice and strong and that the heads aren't butchered. Re the ratchet ring spanners - I got the bolts moving with an ordinary ring spanner hitting it with a hammer, and only used the ratchet to overcome the resistance of the Loctite to get them the rest of the way out. I don't think the ratchet mechanism would have been very happy with all the hammering . My new bolts had dollops of something blue on them when they came so I didn't use any additional Loctite on reassembly.

Yes you are right it is good practice to use new bolts, I took the old ones out and rang my local L R official distributed, "oh yes I know the ones part number ******* 33 pence each plus VAT, but we don't stock them".
Great, so I cleaned the old ones and tapped the holes then put loctite in the threads before assembling.
I plan to get new ones and take them out one by one to replace them, I am also going to slap some wax oil around the heads just in case I ever need them out again.
