There is a pretty major fuel leak on the pipe connecting the fuel pump to the fuel filter (at the pump end). Annoyingly it's only developed since buying the vehicle last week as there is no way I would of missed it when buying it.....it's that obvious!
It looks like the pump is the OEM fitted one, the union nuts look pretty corroded so I'm guessing lots of WD40 before loosening. It seems as though the leak is coming from the union nut/. Having googled the repair I'm guessing that I should replace the whole unit?
So my questions, there seem to be a number of fuel pumps for diesel 300 disco (series 1) out there which vary in price. Which pump would you guys reccomend as a decent replacement?
I'm guessing this will be fine http://www.paddockspares.com/err5057-fuel-lift-pump-mechanical-300tdi.html
Secondly, none of the pumps I can find online include the hoses....where can I get these from?....is it 8mm hose? Or should I bother....is the culprit most likely the olive inside the union nut join in which case I can refit the original hoses?
Thanks!
