Hi, can anyone give me any pointers to why I am seeing oil on my front break discs and on the inside of the tyres..? It's coming from the front axle... would it be blocked air nipple on the top of the axle or possibly to much oil in the axle it's self.?
Could be either and both are simple checks, do you know if your swivels are oil filled or one shot grease as it could be a swivel seal or pitted swivel balls (less likely)
if its inside the wheel hub oil seal is a good candidate if swivels look and dry. Swivels normally leak over the shroud that covers the disks then on to wheel
Thanks all, last year I replaced the swivels and, bearing and gaskets... maybe something I done wong. I suppose the best solution is to start taking the wheel off and see where it's coming from.
It seems to be more of the grease then oil.
mine was doing this one year after fitting new front hub oil seal took out seal on looking at sealing lip with magnifier the seal lip had become lots of minute raged dips seal was patern one stub axel was in perfect condition only did 2000 milessince fitting patern part seal
