Mark and I decided to go and do some local lanes today, the Series was over in Derbyshire so decided to see how the D3 would perform instead, I said when I got it that I wouldn't lane it... i've had it 21 days, which I think is quite a long time to resist...

Anyway, 99% of the lanes it managed really well on, it got a bit stuck in the 4ft snow drifts at one stage, but, a quick attack with the spade and we kept going :)

The spare wheel is mounted below for some reason... which acts as a huge snow plough. This was fine on most lanes, but, on the last lane it was rather deep and rutted, and I ground to a halt, so, in the end we had a minor epic in reverse towing to get it out, whilst dragging half the lane back with us... the result?

A rather muddy D3!!!

A quick run back and forth through the local Ford sorted out the majority of the underside, however, my local jet wash was shut, so, the rest of the D3 is still rather muddy.

So! Time to find a new home for the spare i feel!

Other than that though, the "snow" terrain response is epic, works really really well.

Once again, a huge thanks to Mark for rescuing me... and digging in the 4ft drifts whilst I was stuck in the nice warm, comfy D3...

arrgg... don't say that - i just spend £360 on 2 new Pirelli Scorpion tyres on Saturday!

Those do look nice tyres though... i'll be getting some new A/T ones before Morocco for the D3...

i recognised the gate on the lane that used to be a mud pit thats now rubble!:confused:

I think that makes sense. Anyway, ill never forget kippers lad falling into the ditch by the gate when its open. he just disappeared!:)

Then he asked kippers gate opener/co-driver to open a shaken not stirred bottle of coke. Fantastic! :D

Anyway, looks nice.

You guys know im only 20 mins from there? give me a shout next time your local. :)

I think where we came to greif with the D3 getting stuck was nearer Ibstock.

We kept off the lane at Norton Juxta as I believe there is a TRO on it at the minute. :)

ah true... the problem lane was near Packington.

I know it did, think the TRO is over now. Havent looked in the last week to be honest, there was big earth mounds at both ends just after crimbo.

Has been abused for a couple of years though that one.

The local farmers usually take care of it though. There pretty good at levelling it all out, repairing the damage they do, which is good. :)
