I was in Kampala, Uganda last week and saw these Landies as tow trucks. I also saw a Defender Puma heading straight for me at high speed on the way to the airport as we drove at high speed down the wrong side of the road towards it but that is a whole other story!

That top one is interesting. It looks like a Stage 2 with series panels but a Defender bonnet.

Great pictures. Did you travel out of Kampala at all? I know someone who lives near Kiwangala, which is about 75 miles South West. Sounds along way, but not far for out there I don't think. He refers to Kampala as the nearest major town/city.
 
We traveled a long way but north and east - Soroti was the furthest town we got to. It was about 600 miles in 6 and a bit days on roads made for ladies but not for the mini-van we were travelling in lol!
