Gutted got 95% of way home and lightweight has died, looks like the turbo seals have blown, engine started racing, smoke from exhaust and stalled her very quick. AA recovered me the final 6 miles but my garage, crane, tools etc are all 230 miles away at my workplace in Feltham and the AA won't do a second recovery on the same problem.

Gutted not long done a full 200 conversion using good disco lump and now I'm stuck and can't repair quickly where it is.... So

She is a 24 volt ffr canvas backed lightweight, brand new military door tops £250, brand new top bulkhead £300, brand new door bottoms £150, good white 8 spikes with nearly new mud tyres 7.50's, twin tanks so u can run veg in one diesel in other, both tanks half full, mot mid jan, one small hole on outrigger will want doing, new glass clear headlamps £140 ( not cheap plastic ones) all in all a nice honest lightweight ,

We only have one allocated parking space so it needs to be gone and Xmas week I can't afford to get it recovered to London :(

Vehicle in ramsbottom lancs, should be very easy project and sm gutted :(

£1000 absolutely no offers but needs to be gone sharp ish

Cheers Steve

There must be a way to whip off the turbo and drive it home mate:confused:i know i would.

PM Blue Beasty he has a nonturbo 200tdi in his 109.. aka 200Di engine conversion.

I'd be thinking about removing the turbo and blanking off manifold. and fitting a blanking cap to the oil feed. It's gonna be a std BSP thread so Plumbcentre or similar will have summat. and drive the bugger home..

The turbo's inline so you need to make something up to remove turbo and bolt to manifold and join to downpipe........a rummage in the skip round the back of a 'zorst shop should come up with something thats a close enough fit for a tub of exhaust putty, a strip of tin and a bunch of clamps to cope with.

As said blank oil feed and run inlet pipe direct from air filter to manifold....everything else can stay as it is

Woe woe woe....
I guess you weren't planning on selling it.
If you could get it home could/would you want to fix it?

Have you got some prices for getting it taken home? How much is it?

It just seems a bit drastic it get rid. I'm sure you would regret it.

drive it round the block and use your mates breakdown cover

I have AA cover If ya want me to "buy it" and fone em to get it recovered PM me :D :D

I realise time is short...but why not join the RAC, Green Flag or one of the other outfits available... wait 2 days... then call them out and get recovered? :D

if you can get it to blackpool you can store it in my garage short term and i have a 200tdi sat in there aswell, you could perhaps try the turbo at no cost to me

been out to it in a better mood this morning, fixed the boost pipe and she starts up no probs and no clouds of smoke however i think issue is no 3 injector is duff, crack 1, 2 and 4 and big engine note change, crack 3 small bit of fuel bubbling and not much change

offer still stands so could be a really easy total giveaway but I am now soaked to the skin and not a happy bunny so definate bargain for someone, even a rough lightweighgt goes 1500 - 2000 let alone a tdi converted one, done with proper downpipe conversion, diesel mounts, new spigotbush and clutch plate, mated to original box

Cheers Steve

Is it not worth filling the fuel filter with REDEX and trying to sort out the injector??
Looks to be the bargain of the century for some lucky landyzoner!!!

want want want! Wife even said "ok"

Why the hell did we just buy a new house with no extra parking space :( :( :(

We're hoping to rent a barn, but, won't know about that till post move.

Arrgg.

Mike, if you really want to buy it, just store it at mine out the back where my old Disco sat.
Just a thought...
