whats the best fan to be used with an inverter, in a tdi 200, prob going to be fixed behind dog guard facing windscreen, smallish but with a bit of power,

The OP's Q makes no sense!
How much power?
Why isnt it self contained?
Wot do yu want to run orf it?

Why do you need an inverter for a fan?

Why does the engine affect which fan you try to invert?

Why am i even replying again?!? :)

The reason I want to run it off an inverter is because the self contained fans are not strong enough. The power of the portable battery fans is quite weak.
Does anyone know of a strong one which can either run off the cigarette lighter or an inverter?

Won't the inherent ineffeciency of the inverter mean that you use loads more power to get the same draught that you'd get if you just used a 12 volt fan? Bit like using a motor to drive a generator to power the motor to drive the, er, generator.................? Any electronics engineers care to comment??

get a radiator fan off any car. they shift some air, and they are 12V.

Itsnotajeep, yes dad you are correct :)
