Hi all, a mate of mine is selling his 1988 landy 90 with a 300 tdi conversion last year it also had a new gear box.
No real dings on the body work chasis looks decent bait of surface rust but nothing major.
He says it struggles to start some mornings could this be an old battery or glow plugs? Seems to run smooth enough.

He wants around £3500 does this seem decent? Any advice much appreciate or if I've been dim not looking at certain parts then please tell me :D

Cheers rob

give chassis a good look over/ what sort of job is the disco eng conversion.
take it for a test drive, have a mate check it over with you. don,t rush into anything

As a rule I never buy cars from anyone I know. Have seen a lot of friendships go bad when car buying is involved. If your budget is £3500 then there shouldn't be a shortage of choice for you.

Thanks for the advice everyone!
I drove it yesterday for about a half hour it pulled quite well. I friend of mine is a mechanic so will ask him to give it the once over Aswell chassis has surface rust but no gaping holes and is it a common trend that the Heater is awfull?
As for the 300 conversion it was him and a mechanic friend of his that I also know that dropped it in. What is usual bodge on conversions?
Thanks again rob

Heaters can be poor - usually a mixture of:

- Broken, lose or poorly adjusted control cables

- poor fan

- heater box poorly sealed to bulkhead

- crudded up heater matrix

- wing vent (the one facing up) full of crud

Not expensive to fix, and a busters guide on here on how to remove the heater matrix

Sorry, can't comment on the 300 Tdi conversion
