The odd thing i find, is some people who don't like the fact it is different from the predecessor, well being a replacement that is kind of the POINT!!!

If it was the same, what would be the point! ;)

Not saying i'm too much of a fan of it, far too expensive for what it is, but to be fair i could argue that point for the old model..

Styling is very different from anything else, and to be fair it's nice to see something that doesn't look like it's Jap/euro counterparts..

I don't like it, not because it is different, I don't like it because it isn't a Land Rover.
Proper Land Rovers should be a simple and robust, the sort of thing you are not afraid to trample mud and crap into.
I can't believe that a company that was the benchmark of 4x4 utility vehicles, appears to have abandoned the whole sector to the Japanese.
If you want to see a worthy successor for the Defender 90, have a look at the current Suzuki Jimny.
 
More than a few pic's of the predecessors further down the page, G4, Camel, etc which I thought was nice to see.
