Well I've actually decided on my first Landrover and have tried numerous quotes with the specialist insurers. Lancaster were the cheaper but then all of a sudden they stopped quoting and so I had to ring them. Having rung them I wish I hadn't bothered. They were totally unhelpful and kept wanting to ring me back despite the queries not being particularly difficult. They also tried to feed me a load of carp that I know is rubbish (I used to sell car insurance myself a couple of decades ago). PLUS they wanted to know about every minor little addition or change before it was done and said that each would likely attract a loading. PLUS they wanted more money it I towed anything!

Anyway I had had a quote with Adrian Flux but it was £80 more expensive. I rang them having noticed that they give a discount for members of the forum and they managed to drop the price to about £10 more than Lancaster insurance were......

This is the reply I've just left to their email asking for my experience of getting a quote:

There isn't a box to say how happy I was with the sales advisor. I took out the policy with Adrian Flux despite it NOT being the cheapest and this was down to the quality of the calls. I was very happy with the way I was spoken to and the very helpful attitude of the sales person(s). I am not sure if I spoke to the same person each time or if I spoke to two different girls but both were extremely helpful. Your original quote was £80 more than my cheapest but after the unhelpful annoying way that that call was dealt with by your competitor I remembered just how helpful your sales advisor was (the first call). I then rang back hoping to get something with a similar price. With your landrover forum scheme discount your 2nd advisor was able to get me a price which although not as cheap as the competitor. Again she was extrememly helpful and spoke to the underwriter/manager to make sure everything was right then gave me the benefits of your policy and even spoke to the underwriter again to get me a benefit that I wanted which wasn't normally included (and managed to do so!). So I took out the policy and paid you more than I would have paid the competitor and I am happy about that.

:) this is really endearing to hear and the fact you've taken the time to actually post about it is a very nice gesture. It's rare that people get to receive feedback in regards to their customers thoughts, but ill certainly make sure that the people in question are praised accordingly.

I'm even happier now :D

I can have an agreed value which is more than I paid (I'm restoring it) and I can add county sides and 4 seats in the back. Removing the fee was a nice gesture.... Maybe I'll also remove the mileage restriction at the same time so I can use it more :D

Glad to see that we could help again Cowasaki, you were top of my list today so i'm glad to see Customer Service got in contact promptly.

Any further issues feel free to ping me a PM.

Glad to hear you decided to give us another go Johnlad, I can only apologise if you have had a bad experience in the past.

If you PM me your policy number, I can arrange that your policy is set to not auto renew.

I hope that helps

Best regards,

Jordan

Ed is going to be furious when he gets back, all these compliments for Jordan ( have you got boobs or something?) and Ed had to fight of the snarling pack of landyzone wolves;)

it would of been nice if after i paid the premium in one lump, that you updated the dvla that the vehicle was insured, as ive just tried to tax online and the dvla site says the vehicle has no valid insurance,
Just when I thought you had got your act together:mad:

I can add vehicles to mid, can take upto 7 days to appear

dvla say it should only take 24hrs max for them to update there end ONCE they get the info off the insurer

Johnlad,

Unfortunately as an insurance broker this is one thing that is out of our hands i'm afraid. Once you pay for your policy and it has incepted - it's then down to the underwriters to update the MIB. As we work on behalf of 30+ underwriters, it's difficult to say how long it takes. It can be up to 14 days with any insurer in the UK. We can however email you an insurance cover note so you can tax your car at a post office immediately.

Sorry for any delay you have experienced.

Many thanks

Jordan
