hi there

I am new to this site and just finding my way around. i have a problem with my 1996 land rover discovery 300tdi after fitting a snorkel on the vehicle i decided to try abit of wading once i have been through the water i drive afew hundred yards up the road and the disco lacks power i can keep my foot to the floor and the revs come and go and it did once cut out but did restart after afew attempts then after proberly 5 mins of it playing up it goes back to normal and i have no problems until next time i go into water and the water doesnt have to be that deep upto the bottom of the door. i have replaced the fuel filter. checked that the snorkel its sealed checked the intercooler pipes for leaks. checked cleaned and refitted the sedimenter checked for water presence in the fuel pump none found. i have made sure that when going through water the alarm/immobilizer control unit does not get wet as i no this can cause problems.

i am now stuck and dont no what else to look for i thought someone must have come across this problem before.

thank you for any help and advise you can give.
Dan.

sounds like air in the diesel, but how this relates to wading i dont know.
only other thing i could suggest was a soggy air filter, but you say its sealed ok.
is it only after wading?

i take it is does it neutral aswell as in gear, cos bouncing revs could be a clutch slipping when wet.

Thanks for replies yer it will do it in neutral aswell as in gear and the airbox is completly sealed I thought of air in fuel but it does only do it after wading and only plays up for 5 -10 mins and is then ok again! Until I next go into water. I live in Worcester thanks again.
