ok coming back from the kit car show today, i was driving down the motorway when i felt a drop in power. i was holding 70mph when it went and it droped to about 50mph, no fault codes logged no smoke. engine runs fine at idle. feels like the turbo tries to kick in then doesnt. ive wd40'd the actuator arm and it seems free. should it move when you rev the engine while stationary
i can supply a nanocom file tomorrow if it helps

bye the way its a 1999 td5 110 defender

ok. the acuator arm was free so changed the fuel filter which improved things, but still not right had a look round i found fuel at the back of the engine so replaced the regulator took it on a run and thought it was ok till i went on the m25 flat out i was doing 65 depending on the graident.

recorded some data off the nanocom i can email if someone know what there looking at. any help appreciate

thats one of the things ill be doing tomorrow, i did have these pipes off a few months back and there was no sign of degradation then.
after replaceing the regulator the engine is much better the turbo does kick in but theres a noticable amout of over run and wont go above about 3000 ish rpm while driving

Does it rev over 3000 when in neutral and stood still? It could be the second stage of the fuel pump failed.

The turbo actuator won't move. It will only do so under load while moving.

Live data on T4 will highlight the issue most likely.
