hope someone can give me some ideas on what to do next with my 1991 200tdi disco with a lack of power. Will start from the beginning. Bought this disco that had been sat outside work for three years, got it through its mot and on the road, but from the first time I drove I thought it to be very sluggish, so done the usual, Changed the filters
Checked for tight brakes and wheel bearings
Checked lift pump
Made sure the pipe from turbo to pump is clear and hole free as well as freeing up waste gate arm, took top of pump off and freed up the throttle pin and turned pump up a bit, checked all boost and fuel pipes and made sure intercooler was clear. At the weekend I'll be cleaning the pipes from the fuel tank to engine as well but I'm not holding my breath.
I have spoken to the previous owner who said he fitted a bigger intercooler and wound the pump up a bit also, and It went like a dream, towing a trailer with a car on at 65-70mph no problem, but will now struggle to to 40-45 flat out up a reasonably short steady hill. Any other ideas of fixes will be greatly appreciated, just don't want the pump to be faulty, will cost more to change that then I paid for the truck, thanks in advance.
