L322 TD6 started having a strong smelling white smoke coming from exhaust on start up it disappears right away and only does it on a cold start.

i have changed the crankcase breather filter but its still happening anyone know what it could be?

thanks

If water and oil ok and not loosing any it could just be unburnt diesel from cold start, does it do it when you start after glow light goes out ? Mine give a slight puff from cold but then I never bother waiting for glows just turn the key turns over once then goes.

Too new for me. There are all sorts of new fangled things that could go wrong. EGR, that thing that captures fumes from the fuel tank then burns them off, or maybe it is a dribbly injector?

Every engine on the planet will issue white smoke on cold start in damp conditions.

It seems if i turn the ignition on and let it warm up a bit then it does not smoke. I've had the car for 5 years and always started it the same its never smoked only recently so i am guessing it's an upcoming issue but for now its ok

thanks for the replies
