TD6 L322, 2003, 107,000 miles - Every morning when I leave my house I get as far as around 6 miles and the fuel injection system error comes on and the engine cuts out while I'm doing around 50mph. I leave it for a few minutes and it's difficult to start again, takes 3 or 4 tries but then off it goes like there's no problem, the error disappears and it's fine for the rest of the day. I had a fuel pump fitted last week and no other errors were showing on the garage computer but it's still got this issue. I'm having no other problems, it starts fine first thing. It's going back into the independent LR garage next Monday and they're going to keep it for a couple of days and try and catch the issue while it's hooked up to the computer. Any ideas what it could be?

Don't know if you have managed to get this sorted out by now. I would be checking the stored fault codes (it should store at least one) and the fuel pressures, ideally checking after it has cut out. Has the fuel filter has been replaced? I've had a few high pressure pumps give these type of symptons.

Same thing happened to me this morning. Was on the way to a mechanic luckily tho. Cut out twice. He plugged in the computer and there was a faulty injector. There looked like there was 6 injectors and number 2 (think it was showing up as cylinder on the computer) wasn't working.

I thought I had this sorted but it happened me again today 3 days after getting it back from the garage. They said everything was cleared on the computer too and all relevant parts were replaced. Did you manage to get yours sorted? Sounds the very same as my problems.

Hi,

This type fault would most likely indicate a fuel delivery problem.

Get your mechanic to do pressure testing on the fuel lines at various points if it isn't obvious.

It could be the pump in the fuel tank, the pump under the front passenger seat (in a right hand drive), and don't forget to check the relays too.
