Folks,
Due to battery drain I fitted an automatic isolator which cuts in at 11.8v.
It’s now done this but the remote control isn’t working and the vehicle is locked.
Previously a local mechanic managed to pop the bonnet by removing the grill but I don’t know exactly what he did.
Any ideas?

What exactly is isolated? And why 11.8? What is the objective?
You can charge up to 10A through the 13 pin trailer socket.
Can you not use the emergency key blade in the front door?

As Kermie suggests, use the key blade to gain entry. Then pop the hood from the footwell, to access the battery.

Since the automatic isolator monitors battery voltage, it will most likely be adding to the battery drain.

The lock doesn’t work unfortunately.
Once the battery reaches 11.8v the isolator kicks in to prevent further draining. I should have just isolated before laying up.

Might be a good idea to fix the door lock, I know I would given the problems it can cause if it doesn't work.

Get a jumper pack and connect it to the live on the starter motor and an earth.

That'll restore power to the vehicle while you unlock and start it up.

A battery that's dropped to 11.8 it's beyond flat. I'd want to thoroughly test that battery before trusting it on a range rover

Maybe plug a solar panel into the accessory socket to keep it topped up.

The socket I had in the boot certainly did, as I used to run a cooler off it.
I hadn’t modified mine, the first owner may well have done.

Not an unknown mod, especially if there's been a 2nd battery in the boot space

Not by me. As said there's a mod where you replace the link in the rear fuse box with a relay to make them ignition live.

All of mine do. Hence accidental drain battery one time when I forgot to unplug front and rear cameras, and left her sitting for 2 or 3 weeks.
