Hi guys new to this forum but not to RR's and off roading, I said never again and here I am !
I also have a habbit on forums of posting in the wrong forums ! so sorry if I have.
I have just bought a very sorry for its self RR L322 TD6 2002 with 141k on the clock.
Turbo done and gearbox changed and apart from being a state cosmeticly and internally drives superbly with good power and brakes and steers in a strait line.
She did raise and lower when we first bought her but the owner did say she had an intermitent suspension inactive fault and soon after it came on, I did note when she raised she seemed to bounce up on the front just my observation but she did raise now nothing ! any pointers ?:

2nd is blower motor, have a spare FSR gonna try tomorrow but if not that where next ? all lights on panel but no blow !

3rd Airbag light is on...........any common areas to start on this ?

Thanks in advance, bought in lust at a price I should have said no, if anyone else lives down Portsmouth area be great to meet you.

UPDATE: Fan was the final stage resistor easy fix, air bag light was reset and has not come on since, possibly a battery change had set it off, air suspension inactive was calibration, see thread: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/air-suspension-update-fixed.377784/

For your suspension compressor if the fault is intermittent it could be on overheating or a fault which senses not as much Air/pressure as expected.
if it has not been done in its life it could be the reason. It could also be leaking bags at different positions so doesn’t leak all the time then when it does it overworks the compressor.
You sound as if you may be hands on so all easy diyable get out there with the soapy water spray and check the bags at different heights.
Good luck and welcome:)

Hi mate and thank you for your reply.....yes I am hands on to much at times lol I am also lucky enough to have the use of my mates ramps so the plan is to get it in the air and check the bags, soapy water in a spray bottle job, she did stay up the same height on a 60 miles trip home however snd forgot to say the ex owner did say they had been done but when ? and lets hope they are decent ones I remember the old P38 and E53 cheap ones never sat in the base properly and still for sale.
Air compressor is unkonwn, I was planning to be honest after I had the MOT on her to just replace it anyway then i know every 2 to 3 years its time !
Do these have a seperate tank like a res like on the D3 ? if it were a P38 it be fixed by now but learning about the L322, it is enjoyable learning and to be honest I do not think the L322 deserve the rep they had at one time.
Apparently the ex owner also said you could leave it a week and a half and it would still start.....wait to be proved that one lol
If all gos well on the 28th of feb she will be going to the lakes for a week on a family holiday wife 3 kids and the dog and maybe even a couple of easy byways dependant on the snow position that is !

They are all pretty much the same as regards the system components.
But they got a little bit separated in their positions on later models;)
If bags “have” been done suspect compressor. But soapy water is cheap:)

Have you had it on diagnostics for fault codes? Compressor overheat, articulation validity error, are quite common (on mine anyway) :)

If I remember correctly my airbag fault was from a bad connection on the battery terminal, I think it flagged up as "battery disconnect unit"

Just googled L322 battery disconnect unit and it came up with this
16 Dec 2014 — My new to me 06 has a fault for "battery disconnect unit 1" and an SRS light. ... 2006-2009 Range Rover MkIII / L322.

Hi mate, at the moment she is a fresh project, I drove back 60 miles and left her at my mates garage ready to go down in a minute and start on her thought I would ask the questions on here first and get some pointers from some already driven insane people lol.
It is starting to sound like compressor so am planning on running diognostic equipment on it today, I believe my mate has launch and i carsoft, I think i car soft will dionose ?

Not used the icarsoft so no idea what it can do. Best to do diagnostics though rather than replace and hope.

Update.
Spent the day on the old girl and had her up on ramps.
Seems she has had a newish front sub frame, archs are going slightly and a hole each side rear sills normal getting welded either friday or saturday.
She was down front left side this morning (parked about 15 hours) not right down but down, I used I car soft to re-set and it raised very quickly, went to high quick as well and back down the same so suspect may get away with pump, checked for leaks soap and water found none so parked up (battery flat) and will check in the morning around 9.30 ish as more work tomorrow.

Front passenger door actuator jammed and so we damaged removing it but lucky we had another actuator and so fitted that, wires were all lose inside the door and we tried to re-connect after actuator fitted but no power at all to lock/windows/mirror so suspect a fuse or a wire ??? If anyone can advise please ? (we could not see any fraid wires in door or door shut) door panel left off and now have a door that opens/closes inside and out so MOT pass ! when it gos that is.

SRS fault can bus error and passenger occupancy so guess same as BMW's ? reset and will wait and see.

Rear doors tied on with cable ties so took off and reconected window switches and windows work ! inner door catch disconnected hence why no door opening inside ! will re-fit rear panels tomorrow.

Diesel leak underneath traced to pump area...maybe the pump leaking ? cleaned off the pump and will keep a check, EGR is original is it a good idea to blank off ?

Heater blower motor fixed ! was FSR so thats done now.

So tomorrow hope to re-fit door panels all bar one as top inner is missing and clean a bit its a mess.

I wish the previous owner has said it needed air bag possible would have been quicker !

If anyone has input on way to go as to top please do as I hope this post will be of help to others in the future.

Could be alot worse I think tiny niggles but heading the right direction.
