hi guys, just new on here so would like to say hi there, and look forward to bring part of you community, I gave a problem that I thought someone could help me with. In December this year I had a new battery fitted, a new final stage resistor, dye obd tarting, or failing battery problems. Everything has been spot on since, but this last week problems have arisen. My battery went flat do I charged it up, etc. Then after a few days it went flat again, so I've checked a few things and this is where I'm at. If the car battery up charged all night, with a quality charger, once disconnected the battery is flat. If I connect my new starter pack up it, the car starts no problem. I then drive yo my local shop, get whist I want and ome out, the car won't start, it's flat battery again. But connect the starter pack and away it goes. I've glad people telling me all sorts, but it Would cost a fortune to follow everyone's ideas.
I'm now retired due to disabilities, so my working ability is greatly reduced, so I'm finding it hard to sort it out, to my, and I'm a simple guy, if the car won't start under the battery power, but it does start with the starter pack, surely the starters ok? If the battery won't take a charge up over night, can it be a faulty new battery?
The alternator shows around 14.8 when car running, so it's putting something in the battery, but nothing is being stored in the battery. Can anyone help or advise, as, local garages are making fortunes out of me, I'm an easy catch being disabled and not able to do anything myself, so I'm looking for some advice so I can go in with some information to hand, rather than being dazzled with the engineers waffle ....thanks guys please help I rely so much on the car as high me and my wife are wheel chair users and the car is our life line!

Welcome:)

First off from what you have said you didn’t personally buy & fit the battery?

I would go back to who fitted it and ask them to check it, battery sounds dead it should have a guarantee still valid.
So they should replace.

Good luck and keep us posted how you get on.

L322 and battery problems.
Isn't it the L322 that drains the battery overnight through the windscreen wipers because they don't park properly?

Yep I believe so. That and a few other things:D

But as a charger overnight does nothing, or a run in the car. Then I would start with the battery and who fitted it less than a year ago, money wise:)

Sorry... correction..... headlamp wash-wipe that doesn't park properly.

Thanks guys for your tips and advice, funny enough the headlamp washers and wipers don't work, never have, and they appear to be jammed against the top of the bumper. I've had the car since October last year and there have been many jobs to do, to bring it up to spec, amongst them that are left to do are those headlamp wipers and also the tailgate wiper does not work either.
I've done discs, pads, shoes, wheel bearings, ball joints all round, replaced some interior trim parts, new storm wheels and tyres, FSR MODULE, battery, bonnet release cables, full service including auto box sevice and many other bits and bobs and its just the two wipers to do now and of course sort this starting problem. And yes, marjon! I'm taking the car to the garage tomorrow (Saturday) that fitted the battery at xmas, I've asked them to change it under warranty, as I'm sure a check of the battery condition will show that it's failing. It's not common for them to go like that, but, they are electrical items and things do go wrong some times, so we will see.
Thanks everyone for your help and advice, I'm getting old and sometimes it's hard to figure things out, and your help is brilliant, cheers!!!!!
