Yesterday lunchtime after a 10 mile run and a 1 1/2 hour stop, Unlocked car, key in ignition- could not even turn key to start engine. Made sure auto box selector was in correct position ( been caught with that one before) still no key turn.
After 5 mins of twiddling it turned and started.
Got home and changed Battery in Key ( old one still full 3v, but still changed it)
Checked wife's key and all were starting car with energetic spin.
Went out later in afternoon, went 3 mile 2 hrs later unlocked car, Key would not turn in ignition again after 10 mins of trying, got a lift home leaving car unlocked in car park and this morning after a very cold night, key in ignition, and yes, you guessed it, it started no problem energetic spin. However, the clock was spinning to the present time but stopped 15 mins behind correct time (after resetting yesterday)(I don't know if that is a clue)
Checked battery voltage 12.14v static. 14.08v from alternator
Would appreciate some ideas, I'm living on my nerves!!!!!!!!
