Hi guys ive just been away and my beloved RR 2004 V8 has developed a couple of faults which i hope and dont think are related, firstly the front and rear Fag lighter sockets arent working, ive checked all the fuses behind the glove box and in the off/side boot compartment and nothing.. they're all in tact and the AUX socket in the boot still works though ..
Then to top it off the following day the parking aid constantly sounds when in reverse for about 10secs and goes off with the light on the switch constantly flashing ...
Any suggestions, ive read up on the L322 having a problem with wires chaffing behind the rear bumper but is there a way i can individually disconnect each sensor to see if one of these are at fault ?

Any one know if there is some fuse hiding in the L322 thats not in glove box or O/S arch fuse boxes that might control the cigarette lighter sockets ??

Well seen as i'm now talking to myself i just as well let myself know when i fixed it.. Thanks to you guys and previous threads for their advice on parking sensor problems ..I fol;owed your advice and on removing the rear bumper i found a reversing sensor wire chaffed on the rear beam causing it to short out and consistantly sound, taped up the wire then as a precaution taped up the rear beam just to prevent this from happening in future.. Sorted thanks guys .. Just the cigarette lighter to go .. think itll be a seperate rewire Job

have you checked if you have power to the fag sockets and its not the lighters themselves ? i know its a bit obvious.you could always give up smoking.ha ha

Cheers AL but i gave that up some time ago, its just so my kids can power their laptops and stuff.. may just have to resort to using the AUX socket in the boot and running a cable .. Really annoying though .... Oh by the way I had checked and there's no power to them ..

Is there a circuit diagram on RAVE?

Looking at mine it seems to be different to the earlier ones. I think there was a major electrical update in 2006 when the infotainment went from BMW to Ford based so later cars are no good as a reference.
