in a fit of complete incompetence I have managed to put a scratch/dent down both passenger doors on my 2011 L322
- It may be the final straw as I’ve long felt my driveway entrance was too narrow….and on bin day in the dark and pouring rain…..

anyway the local body shop say it needs ‘weld pulling’ before they touch it as it’s too deep to fill which has me thinking maybe replacement doors are the way to go as they are plentiful on flea bay.

I just wanted to check if there were any subtleties over the years that I should be aware of

all advice gratefully received

So long as you get them with a matching loom, otherwise the route is to get just the frame and transfer all the bits....NOT a quick fix, but there are plenty of doors available on flea spray! Paint match can be a bit of an issue. We are just about to take off entire front passenger door for a full replacement because it is beyond repair, unfortunately our hook up with the vendor was postponed due to the stormy weather. Will post pics of update 'transplant' when we have done it.

Surely any damage can be knocked out from the inside?
That was my thought - I’ve only been to one local place so far who suggested that the work to strip, remove the sound proofing would be expensive, they suggested it needed to be pulled out - but I am no b/work expert

I’d like to see that as it may be the route to take

As mine is 2011 I assume unless I was lucky enough to get 2010- then the electrics won’t match - I mainly wanted to be sure that the physical door from an earlier model would fit

Just try and find one as close to the manufacturing date as possible I suppose..
You can transfer the loom and electrics to the new door without doubt of loosing accessories. 👍
