Further to my sus inactive on Sunday this evening we went out (paranormal thing !) parked up for a few hours got back in drove 6 miles, filled up drove 3 more miles and ABS, amber brake symbol and airsuspenison inactive along with HDC inactive lights came on.
I drove another mile pulled into a Mcdonalds she went in and I used icarsoft to read codes.
ABS said OX0005 Rear right spedd sensor plausibility
OX008A Air suspension CAN error
OX008B Transfer box CAN error
Suspension said Canbus fault

Reset them all lights out engine running stopped still and lights came back on dash HDC,ABS and amber warning.
Reset again and put live data on all 4 wheel sensors and drove round car park and all read fine apart from rear right sensor which stayed at zero, left did not reset and stopped engine. A few searches seems some changed sensor and fixed and some did not fix it !
Anyway we sat for 20 minutes and ate our food (stuff !) and started up again and no warnings ? I said watch as soon as I move........nope no lights no warnings and we drove 7 miles home still nothing.

So my question is what the ???? could it be a sensor dying ? or more sinister ! has anyone had this before and I dread to ask.an easy fix ?

I did wash the car today and jet washed wheels which I know is silly as they are delicate lol I am not silly I do not jet wash calipers lol

Managed to fix this, it was the right rear ABS sensor, no liquid ingress just died so co-incidental, fitted new sensor today 16/04/2022 and drove 10 yeards and car reset its self all as it should do.
Very happy !

Hope this helps others in the future and thank you to everyone.

Battery is 12.9 Volts and an 020 Yuassa which is always my first port of call on these.

The ABS sensor connection is in a small box mounted on the wheel arch liner....if you jetwashed the wheel arch liner you may have got the connector wet....it is the blue one!

When the ABS system detects a fault it will put a message out on the CAN and the EAS will go out in sympathy, along with HDC and traction control/DSC etc.....as they all use information from the ABS ECU to function correctly....Suggest checking the ABS connections in the wheel well first and go from there.

I love you !................only joking lol that makes perfect sense mate, maybe damp inside the connector and arcing now and then.
does seem strange the day I jet wash it but also as I no longer have an issue and it was for like a mile of the 25 mile trip I did........think mysel lucky I reckon lol

change the abs sensor had exactly same on my l320 kept going in to same faults as you described
would be fine for a day or two the goes in to limp mode park it up for bit and would reset it self

Hi mate, just ordered one as now traction is kicking in as abs thinks its locked up !
Lights off dash still not reading right rear wheel.

So an update, jumped in the car to go get some parts and at first I thought the diff had dropped, crunching and wouldnt go, I took another car came back and tryed again and its coming from all differant wheels and its the brakes kicking in and out, rear right abs sensor says open circuit and does not read speed so assuming the sensor is shot and its braking as thinks the wheels are spinning or the like, do you reckon I am on the right road ?

Sounds likely.

oh not bad back mate I'm with you on that one must be old age coming on
hope you got a good jack and some axle stands that will make things bit easier mate
Need to find some metal for the axle stands lol.
Yes to both mate, severed nerves in spine so get real pain and phantom pain, I am doing motorcycle easter egg run to Niomi hospice Saturday and so need to ensure my back is saved for that as well.

my back is through foresty work and building
I'd leave the sensor till Sunday if you doing something on Saturday as you will have to remove wheel and bend in to thread the wiring around the chassis it not to smart it made by back twinge abit

Suppose to be having the welding on the archs done saturday and my mate thats doing it said he can do then, trouble is its grabbing on the brakes so dunno if its gonna make it.
Strange how it drove me home fine last night though.

mate when mine was diagnosed with erratic abs sensor it would behave for few days then it would spit its dummy out typical RR

As long as the sensor cures it mate and its not a speed ring on axle also known in w world as a reluctor ring ill be happy.
I am onenof these people who has to know if its that for sure and get it done.
Can wait a year for mot but want it done lol
