Hi guys. Ive got 2003 l322 v8. Been stood for 7 months. Had no fault before parked up. It got abs fault. All diagnostic say is abs return pump. No codes. Can reset code. Lights go out. Soon as you drive light back on. Any ideas where to start?

Can you test run the pump on your diagnostics, it'll tell you if it has seized by not producing a noise. 🤔

As diagnostics say "ABS return pump" that might be a good place to start.

Hi guys same problem cropped up on mine L322 2002 Vogue TD6 3.0 M57; how did you sort the problem ? do you recondition the ABS Pump or it has to be new one ?

First step is diagnostics to identify the problem. Cheaper than throwing parts at it in the hope of a fix.

Dear Datatek;

Thank you for your reply; from the diagnostic tool is stating "ABS Return Pump"; the issue is in the pump's motor as it is not working; could it possibly be a situation of brushes; as the diagnostic tool is not showing other errors save from the return pump itself? if so where there any repair kits available for the change of brushes ?

Ecu testing on the net is a good place for rebuilt and pre-programming the replacement with your vehicles details.
Can you get the abs to function with the diagnostic tool ?

Yes after diagnostic and on particular occasions the error clears itself on tis own or resets; and the ABS warning lights go off.

Not clear the error but get the pump to work using special functions or active testing?

À lot of abs units at a certain point had failing pressure switches, solde issues and overheat due to bad placement. If the brushes had gone in the motor that would Indicate its had some real hard use. 🤔
