Hey fam. Am Sinho, Am new here.
Am having an issue with my l322 2004 4.4 v8. On a cold start it makes some noise like something is lose inside the engine. After like a minutes it gets normal and it runs smoothly but after driving for more than a kilometer the car makes a chocking sound like something somewhere is lose.especially while accelerating.
I will be glad to get some feedbacks experts.
Thx Sinho

Is it a fast rattle? Could be timing chain guides worn, that engine can have that issue.

Alternatively try and sound the area, long screwdriver held to your ear and have someone start it, touch the screwdriver to different engine/ part areas and you may be able to pin point the area, back, top, intake, front etc. that will help narrow where they noise is.

Can you do a video of the issue?
Hey. Thank you for the reply, I did a deeper check and the problem was with the PCV valve (It had a lots of oil through from the separater and all hoses was filled with oil. I replaced it with a new one and the car started running smooth. And I took it for a long test drive picking aboat, while pulling the boat the car started acting funny. It brow the coolant hose and overheated. I forced it a little to find my self away from the highway. I stop the car and got it pulled home. The next morning the car started but it started smorking through one exhaust pipe. I dont know what else is to put my focus on. Any tips or advise are very welcome

Overheating and boiling coolant and smoke or steam from exhaust one side of the V head gasket failed would be my guess, possibly made worse driving with it overheating. Root cause could have been something else like failed water pump etc or air lock- something to prevent coolant circulation. Doesn’t take much to blow a HG on an engine with alloy head.
