Hi again guys . Bloody airbag lights on now .
Error code b0001 drivers frontal stage 1 -deployment control .
Deleted codes . Stays off until I turn steering wheel .

Bad connection clockspring ? Any ideas?

If it comes back when you turn the steering wheel, I would hazard a guess at the rotary connection on the steering column is at fault.

Are we talking about clock spring ?ive read up a bit about errors withh those . Just wanted a second opinion before digging deeper. At first i thought maybe wiring under seat but cant see it being that with it happening as soon as ive turned wheel each way

The term is Rotary Coupler not really like a clock spring as it has multiple tracks.

Thinking back ... a few months ago there i har intermitted problems with the volume up and track skip bottons on the steering wheel controls ... the vol up would skip track and vol up would be vol down.. maybe thats linked too ..

*UPDATE*
It worked ! Just finished installing new part . All went well easy job really.
Lights gone out
Not driven it yet but all controls work and code has deleted and stayed off when turning wheel left and right .
Cheers for the help guys

Glad it worked....and thanks for coming back and closing off the thread with a resolution...this will help others when they are searching for a remedy for their issues.

Cheers bud.

You can watch your steering wheel sensor behave with diagnostic live data, you can see the degrees changing in both directions. On a bad clock spring they can appear to not move and or jump up and down with movement of the wheel. SRS, DTSC, ABS and as you mention stereo controls can all be affected.
Nice outcome.;)
