Hi there,

Its my first post and I am hoping someone on here can help. I have a 1999 2ltr L series diesel. It starts as normal from cold and will run all day as normal until you switch off and restart when hot. The management light stays on and the engine revs slightly and then the freelander will run as normal albeit with the light on. there is no loss of power or smoke of any colour. I have had the fault checked by a local mechanic who said it had fault code 148 coming up. this is a fuel solenoid valve and it conflicts with the vehicle starting and stopping fine on the key. I would be most gratefull for any help as I live in a very small village in central spain and dealerships/ specialists are far from here.

Thanks

Mick

Hi Mick,

Not sure if its any good to you now, but i had the same last week, and i traced the problem to a failed coolant temperature sender.

I replaced the part for £12.

Its a two minute job, and if you need to know how its done, PM me.

Im going to put a "how to fix" thread on here anyway, so you could look that up too if you like.

All the best
