hi every one i am new on here. I am looking at putting a L series engine in to a 2A. i am looking to use the 2A gearbox if i can. Has any one every done this or can any one help.

they are the ones that are put in the rover 200,400,600 and the earlyfreelanders

That's an interesting idea, I have a Montego in mine which is pretty good, you would need the ECU etc to make it all work might be worth talking to Interspin abut adaptors etc.

i have all the ecu and every thing. i work on rover cars so have most the stuff i need around me. do u have any contact details about the company.

Suggest you go for a Montego Turbo diesel a well proven transplant. Otherwise your main problems will be making engine mountings making a bellhousing from block to starter getting clutch and pressure plate to work also will series gearbox spigot end fit into your flywheel. In the 1970s I put a 2.2 bmc diesel into a swb series 2 worked well but was quite difficult to do. Since then have done quite a few different transplants. Be patient take your time "measure twice cut once" and you should suceed. good luck BB
