hi, just purchased a pair of l/r spot lights that i want to fit to the A bar, does anyone know if there is a loom behind grille for these as they come with a plug on each, so am i right in thinking these would just plug in and then buy the aux switch for dash pod or will they need wiring in from scratch via relays etc.,
thanks terry

I can't be sure, but I think it would depend on the actual model.

I've wired mine from scratch with a relay triggered off the main beam wiring.

Using the proper switch (STC50098 for the facelift Disco 2) on the dashboard binnacle will involve some electric jiggery-pokery because it is a non-locking push button, so it's either build it yourself, modify a locking switch or use the official LR system which would require yet another control unit and probably making an adjustment to the BCU to take into account that the spots are fitted.

Ours had the LR box of tricks and as is common was playing up. £100 for new box, I just rewired with old fashioned switch and relay and they are now totally reliable. I have an odd switch on the dashboard, but am not bothered it's a 13 year old car that was bought as a utility vehicle.................

There is full fitting instructions on RAVE for the Driving lamps including how to wire properly via the external fuse box and headlights. seems all wiring harnesses to power these comes in the kit.

refers to STC50294 and stretches to 25 pages.

ok thanks guys, i did see the wiring on rave, but just wondered if lights would connect to loom just make life easier, i'll rewire from scatch thats no problem, thanks again, terry
